There is one thing to consider before picking out your natural lenses: do you want to completely change your natural eye colour, or do you want to enhance it? 

For a small transformation with a big impact, we suggest choosing a lens that will intensify your natural colour. If you feel that you’re eye colour is well suited to you, then picking a lens a shade or two lighter to help brighten your eyes can make a big impact without changing the base colour of your eyes. Another great way to do this is to select a pair of lenses that only tint or blend with your natural colour. They can bring beautiful depth to the eyes if they are a complementary colour. 

One-tone lenses (featuring, as the name suggests, only one shade of pigmentation) that are great for natural-looking blends are unlikely to provide enough pigmentation to completely cover the natural eye colour, especially with darker eyes. If you have dark-coloured eyes, then it is best to look at vibrantly pigmented contact lenses that contain at least two tones, ideally three if you’re eyes are particularly dark. Dark brown eyes could be complimented by some honey coloured lenses, creating a shining effect where it looks as though light is hitting your eyes constantly. If you have blue eyes, consider a green coloured contact such as our Blend Green Natural Contact Lenses to create an aqua blend. 

Or, if you want to stay within the realm of natural colours but move away from a subtle and simplistic change, why not go for a colour that is the opposite of your own? If you have blue eyes, try a vivid green or warm chocolate brown like our richly coloured Tri Tone Autumn Hazel Natural Contact Lenses. If you have hazel or brown coloured eyes, then try some bold blue lenses or vibrant stormy grey, such as our Tri Tone Blue Emerald Natural Lenses or Storm Cloud Grey Natural Contact Lenses. If you’re after a dramatic change or just want to see for yourself what you would look like if born with a different eye colour, then selecting the opposite colour may be best for you. 

Of course, natural shades don’t include true opposites of the entire colour wheel, but you may find it more fruitful to lean towards lighter colours if you have dark eyes, and lean towards darker shades if you have lighter eyes. Use less pigmented lenses to create a blended look between your natural eyes and the contact lenses; if you have brown eyes and wear one-tone green contacts, you could create a refreshing and brightening hazel tone. Before selecting your lenses, you should also find out both your eye measurements as well as the lens measurements. For your comfort, this must be done before purchasing and wearing contacts, even with non-prescription lenses. Your eye measurements can easily be found out from your optician or eye doctor. Save yourself some money in the long run by buying monthly contact lenses over multiple pairs of daily lenses if you plan to frequently reuse the lenses within the span of a month from when they are opened. Or, inversely, if you only intended on using them once then simply buy disposable. Just don’t mix them up - you wouldn’t want to bin your 30-day lenses after one use!
