The Crazy Lenses affiliates have been busy creating make-up looks alongside our coloured contact lenses that carry an alternative flare. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out these awesome ideas for your future looks!
Amp up your alternative makeup look by adding some sparkle! Often used for events such as festivals, incorporating glitter into your makeup quickly enhances your makeup and takes it from that clean girl aesthetic, to something individual and eye-catching. Glitter is available in a variety of different colours and can be applied to the face easily; try choosing a face and body paint from our collection of SFX Makeup from Paintglow and Mehro to enhance the colour!
@sandyglammua got busy with her glitter palette and created this super cute yellow and black themed look. The pairing of a vivid colour alongside a dark, more bold tone allows the yellow sparkles to pop and draw more attention. Sandy completed her look by adding the Wolf Costume lenses to match the colour combination of this makeup.
Why not try face gems as an alternative to glitter? This option is far less messy and can be purchased in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours! Sandy created a carnival makeup look using face gems and the result is perfectly distinct. Paired with a bold smokey eye and metallic inner corners, the Mystic Violet contact lenses that Sandy has used are enchanting in this alternative makeup look!
A simple alternative makeup feature is a bold eyeshadow look. This could be by creating a dark smokey eye, or incorporating a range of colourful tones; @emmafordxo opted for a pattern rather than a blended eyeshadow look. Emma created a black wing using a dark eyeshadow tone and smudging it upwards to soften the line; she then drew a leopard print pattern from the top of the eyelid, over the lower brown bone and to the end of the eyebrow.
To create this look, Emma chose a small brush to apply pink dots and framed these with black face paint to create the leopard print look. In this look, contact lenses were used to complement the creative eye makeup rather than become a focal point, so Emma opted for the Gemstone Green Natural contact lenses from our natural collection.
Another way of highlighting your eyes with your alternative makeup is to draw a pattern to surround the entire eye. This technique almost creates the look of an eye mask using your design; @clarissajadehooper opted for a similar concept and created this floral look that sits beneath her eyes and incorporates an eyeshadow effect on her eyelid.
Whilst this look is simple, Clarissa demonstrated that the need to create something wild and truly intricate is not always necessary. We love the delicate appearance of the flowers around her eyes and the pastel tones used allow the dusky pink tone of our Pixie Pink contact lenses to pop!
There are plenty of different ways to give your everyday makeup or going-out makeup an alternative twist. Try choosing one of your features to focus on, such as eyes, lips, cheeks, or whatever you’re feeling and make that your focal point for this look! Try a vibrant lip colour, create an intricate and loud eye shadow design or go heavy on the blusher, the options are endless for creative makeup, and there are so many different ways that you can deviate from the everyday norm. Add a pair of colourful, patterned contact lenses, or even natural lenses to elevate your look even further!
